Emelia Nunez, 76, of Dwight passed away Sunday, May 16, 2021. She was born in Mexico on March 30, 1945, the daughter of the late Ascencion Munoz and Esperanza Casimiro. Emelia grew up in Michoacan, Mexico. She and her husband, Guadalupe Nunez, moved to Dwight in February of 1980, where they raised their family. She worked at Coils in Dwight until her retirement in 2002. After retirement, she would travel to Mexico frequently with her husband. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Emelia is survived by her children: Javier, Norma and Efrain (Mandi); grandchildren: Lucas, Sophia and Gabriel; and six siblings. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Guadalupe; and six siblings. A visitation for Emelia was held Sunday, May 23, 2021 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dwight. Family recited the rosary at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, May 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. Burial followed in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Dwight.
