Mary Ellen Turner, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026 at the ARC Nursing Home in Dwight, Illinois. She was 92 years old.

Mary Ellen was born on June 8, 1934 in Ottawa Illinois to Luther and Hilda Wentz who preceded her in death. She was raised in Marseilles and Ottawa and graduated from Marquette High School in 1952, she later resided in Blackstone, Illinois.

She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Laurence Turner of Dwight. She leaves behind her children Laurie (Dwight) Hallock of Newnan, Georgia; Karen Bunch of Fort McCoy, Florida; Michael (Laurie) Turner of Dwight, Illinois; and Kristi (Eric) Webb of Senoia, Georgia.

She also leaves behind her sister Dorothy Crackel of Genoa, Illinois. She was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Mary Beth Sugg, son Kevin Turner, and granddaughter Jessica Turner.

She was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church Dwight, Illinois. A visitation will be held at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Dwight on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 10 am to 11am. A funeral mass will follow at 11 am at the church. She will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery in Odell, Illinois.

Mary Ellen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.
