The MVK area Senior Citizens met September 15, 2026 at the Mazon American Legion with 26 people attending.

Lunch was served at noon through Community Nutrition Network, catered by Hoffman House. The meal prayer was given by Nancy Johnson.

Any senior citizen can attend the dinner by registering with CNN.  All are welcome to our meeting and games also.

People who have the Dine Around Town cards should use them before September 30 because they will be invalid after that.

The Senior Citizens meeting was brought to order by President Beth Burns at 12:45 with 22 people attending.  The Pledge of Allegiance was said by all. Representatives from ALC Health Care attended to give us information and tell us about their services which was very interesting and they gave everyone a ditty bag of info and goodies.

Secretary Nancy Johnson gave the minutes of our last meeting and they were approved as read.

Birthdays for September were announced with four members present Nancy Burchfield, Carol Clements, Diane Emerick, and Sonya Jerantowski.

Thank you to Mike for calling Bingo and to Lisa and her helpers for serving the dinner.

Treasurer Shirley Peterson gave her report and was approved as read.

Upcoming events in the area are Dwight Harvest Days, Corn Festival in Morris, First Wednesday in Oct will be chili at the Gardner Lutheran church, and the American Legion in Mazon spaghetti supper October 24.

Door prizes were won by Carl J, Joe S, and Nancy B.

Our next meeting will be Oct. 20 at noon.  Euchre starts at 10:30 and Bingo starts after our meeting.
