June D. Sterling, 84, of Verona, Illinois passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Park Pointe in Morris Monday, October 11, 2021. June was born June 14, 1937 in Gardner, Illinois, the youngest daughter of Alfred and Christiana Olsen. She graduated from Mazon High School in 1956 and married her high school sweetheart, Jerry Snyder, November 25, 1957. They had three children: Jeff (Jackie) Snyder, Susan (Pat) Carey, and Jim (Melissa) Snyder. Jerry preceded her in death in 1980. On April 10, 1982, June married Rick Sterling. He had three children: Val (Tony) Frazier, Lance (Jen) Sterling, and Camie Johnson. With their blended families, they were blessed with 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. Grandma June loved her babies all the way up to the end. She enjoyed trips in their camper and loved to cook and bake for her family. She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Kinsman. June was preceded in death by five sisters: Chris, Gert, Anna, Edith, and Katherine; and two brothers: Hugo and Halger; and her daughter-in-law, Jackie Snyder. A visitation was held Saturday, October 16, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Kinsman. A Mass followed at 11:00 a.m. officiated by Abbot Philip Darey. Burial:  Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Morris. Memorials may be made in her name to your favorite nursing home.
