DWIGHT, ILLINOIS – Norma Jean Rodosky, 83, of Dwight, Illinois died peacefully Saturday, June 19, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side after a long battle with cancer. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 in Sacred Heart Church, Kinsman, Illinois, with Father Stanley Drewniak officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Ransom, Illinois. Friends called Tuesday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight; and Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Kinsman preceding the funeral service. Father Drewniak will lead the Rosary at 10:40 a.m. during the morning visitation. Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, is in charge of the arrangements. Norma was born August 23, 1937 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Raymond and Louise (Noonan) Small. She was married to William James Rodosky on June 11, 1960 in Sacred Heart Church, Kinsman, by Father Jamison. They celebrated their 61st anniversary the week before her death. Norma’s greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed playing bridge, especially with her Dwight friends; baking her famous pies; posting recipes on Facebook; shopping, traveling, and family Sunday Fundays. Norma was a warm, kind, and joyful woman who always placed caring for her friends and family over herself. Norma is survived by her husband, William James Rodosky, Sr.; one daughter, Martha (Dean) Pfeifer of Mazon, IL; and three sons: Mark (Mara) Rodosky of Pittsburgh, PA; William, Jr. (Kimberly) Rodosky of Dwight, IL and Michael (Anne) Rodosky, also of Dwight, IL. Surviving are 11 grandchildren:  Stephanie (Johnny Maddux) Nicholson, Rebecca Pfeifer, Amy (Daniel) Veselak, Lauren (Jesus) Roman, Alexander Rodosky, Sophie Rodosky, Madelyne Rodosky, Molly Rodosky, Macey Rodosky, Dane Rodosky, and Abby Rodosky. Eight great-grandchildren: Bradly, Dean, Kade, Kaylee, Melia, Max, Jack, and Sam; eight siblings: Nancy Humphreys, Johnny Small, Wayne (Rose) Small, Mary Ellen Darm, Delilah (John) Schissel, Robert Ford, Dennis Barclays, and Patty Bonert; and many nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by three sisters:  Avis Middaugh, Audrey Small and Sharil Small; two brothers: James Small and Leslie Small; and her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Penny Small, Dianne Small, Dean Darm, Richard Humphreys, Carl Bonert, and Betty Small. Memorials may be made in Norma’s name to Sacred Heart Church of Kinsman or the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University.
