Dwight Police Department Hosts Annual National Night Out to Strengthen Community Bonds
DWIGHT, IL — July 29, 2026 — The Dwight Police Department proudly invites all residents to celebrate the annual National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.This free, family-friendly event is designed to cultivate neighborhood camaraderie and strengthen the vital partnership between local law enforcement, first responders, and the community they serve.
The celebration will kick off at 5:00 p.m. and run until 8:00 p.m., bringing community members and public safety personnel together for an evening filled with fun, food, and interactive activities.
National Night Out is a nationwide community-building campaign that enhances relationships between neighbors and law enforcement under positive, relaxed circumstances. This year’s event in Dwight promises something for all ages, highlighting the shared commitment to keeping local neighborhoods safe, caring, and well-connected.
Event Highlights Include:
- Free Food & Treats: Complimentary food and refreshments will be served for families to enjoy.
- Emergency Vehicle Displays: Get an up-close look at police cruisers, tactical equipment, and emergency response vehicles.
- Family Activities: A wide variety of games, youth activities, and community booths.
