The MVK area Senior Citizens met Tuesday August 18, 2026 at the Mazon American Legion at noon.

Lunch was catered by Hoffman House through Community Nutrition Network.  A delicious meal of  with cheese and a slice of tomato, fresh vegetable salad and dressing, pasta salad, hardboiled egg,  cottage cheese, cookies, milk, juice, coffee. was enjoyed by 24 members.

The meeting was brought to order at 12:40 p.m. by President Beth Burns with the Pledge to the Flag. We had one guest, Beth’s grandson, Liam.

Nancy Johnson gave the Secretary’s report and it was approved as read.

Shirley Peterson gave the Treasurer’s report and it was approved as read.

August birthdays were celebrated for Joe, Bob, Carl, Nancy, and Terri.

Beth Burns talked about the events of the  sesquicentennial celebration in Mazon the first week in August.

Upcoming event is Symerton Days.

Door prizes were won by Nancy, Diane, and LaVonne.

The next meeting will be September 15 at noon.  Carol will be bringing cake for her birthday.

A motion to adjourn was made by Shirley and Nancy.  Motion passed.
