Harold Lee Schreiner, 88, of Crawfordsville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2026, in Lafayette.

Born on August 16, 1937, in Crawfordsville, Harold was the son of Peter and Mary Helen (Grimes) Schreiner.

Harold is survived by his beloved wife, Betty Schreiner, whose companionship brought him great joy; her daughter, Cheryl Dickerson; and his sister, Phyliss Young. He was a devoted father to Pamela (Robert) Tock, David (Stephanie) Schreiner, Christopher (Brianna) Schreiner, and stepson Brent (Jill) Ohlendorf.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to Nathan (Katelyn) Tock, Amanda (Robb) Reed, Kaile (Joe) Valdez, Andrew Schreiner, Jonathan (Sarah) Tock, Logan Schreiner, Brooklyn Schreiner, Camden Schreiner, and step-grandchildren Kade Ohlendorf and Avery Ohlendorf (Noel). His legacy continues through his 13 great-grandchildren, each a reflection of the love and steady presence he gave so freely. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember him with deep affection.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1955 to 1959, an experience that shaped his lifelong sense of discipline and quiet pride. Following his service, he built a long and dedicated career with R.R. Donnelley & Sons in Crawfordsville, later retiring in Dwight.

He found joy in life’s simple pleasures – preparing meals for those he loved, getting lost in a good book, and following horse racing from tracks around the world.

Visitation will be held at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Crawfordsville on Saturday, May 9 at 11:30 with funeral mass to follow at noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Memory Care Unit at Ben Hur Health and Rehabilitation or to the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation.
