DWIGHT, IL — The Country Mansion will celebrate the 100th anniversary of Route 66 with Mother Road at The Mansion, a community-wide event taking place Sunday, May 3, 2026, at 101 W. South Street in Dwight, Illinois.
The event will bring together classic cars, live music, local art, Route 66 history, food, drinks, and community pride for an afternoon honoring America’s most iconic highway.
“For 100 years, Route 66 has represented freedom, adventure, small towns, big dreams, and the unforgettable stories that connect people across generations,” said Carson Woods of The Country Mansion. “Mother Road at The Mansion is our way of celebrating that legacy right here in Dwight with music, cars, food, history, and the kind of community atmosphere that makes Route 66 so special.”

The celebration is designed to highlight Dwight’s proud connection to Route 66 while creating a festive gathering place for local residents, visitors, car enthusiasts, and travelers exploring the Mother Road during its centennial year.
Located just steps from Dwight’s historic Route 66 corridor, The Country Mansion provides a fitting backdrop for the celebration. The property, a historic local landmark currently being brought back to life through a phased restoration and revival, will host the event as part of its growing role as a community gathering place for weddings, private events, public celebrations, and special experiences.
“Route 66 has always been about more than pavement,” Woods said. “It’s about the people, the places, the music, the roadside stops, the memories, and the towns that made the journey matter. On May 3, we want people to come together, celebrate that history, and make a few new memories of their own.”
Guests are encouraged to attend throughout the day, enjoy the classic car show, grab lunch or dinner from Comfort Cookin’ Food Truck, visit the beer garden, listen to live music from The 66 Ramblers, and take part in the Route 66-themed programming.
