The MVK Senior Citizens met July 21, 2026 at the Mazon American Legion for lunch at noon catered by Hoffman House through the Community Nutrition Network.
A dinner prayer was given by Nancy Johnson and 25 seniors enjoyed a picnic type lunch which was free today (usually we have a $5 donation per meal).
Our meeting was brought to order after lunch by President Beth Burns with the Pledge to the Flag recited by all.
The guest speaker was Lynn Neville from the Mazon Sesquicentennial committee to tell us about the upcoming events in Mazon the week of August  3-7 with activities throughout the day every day!  Very interesting events planned for everyone.
Nancy Johnson gave the Secretary report and was approved as read.  Shirley Peterson gave the Treasurer’s report and was approved as read.
Thanks to Mike for calling Bingo today.  Door prizes were won by Nancy, Joyce, and Mary.
Upcoming events besides the MVK 150 celebration is Catfish Days in Wilmington, and the 4-H Fair at the Grundy County Fairgrounds.
Our next meeting will be August 18 at noon.  A motion to adjourn was made by Robin and Shirley at 1:35. We have members who play euchre at 10:30 till lunch and Bingo after lunch.  People over 60 are welcome.  Call CNN to sign up for the lunch.
