Dwight, IL — July 10, 2026 — The excitement of youth sports takes center stage this weekend as Dwight Youth Baseball & Softball kicks off the annual Jim Enger Invitational Tournament.
Held at Florence W. Garrett Park, the highly anticipated event brings together youth baseball and softball teams from across the region for a weekend filled with great competition, community spirit, and family fun.
The tournament honors the legacy of Jim Enger, who dedicated over 30 years of volunteer service to the youth leagues of Dwight. Officially renamed in his honor in 2013, the event continues to celebrate sportsmanship and community pride.
Fans and families attending the event can look forward to a full slate of action on the diamonds, alongside great food and merchandise options. Local favorite Myla’s Mix Ups will be on-site on Saturday from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM serving their famous lemon shakeups. Additionally, a custom t-shirt vendor will be available at the fields, allowing players and parents to buy tournament shirts personalized with their athlete’s name and jersey number.
Games are scheduled to run throughout the weekend. The community is encouraged to come out to Garrett Park, support these incredible young athletes, and enjoy a wonderful weekend of local sports.
