Morris Hospital Achieves Accreditation with ACHC

April 3, 2026 — Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers has achieved accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC) following a three-day survey that occurred in February. ACHC accreditation is a reflection of an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

The accreditation includes Morris Hospital and all locations where Morris Hospital provides services, including the Radiation Therapy Center, Ridge Road and Diamond-Coal City Campuses, physician specialty practices, and Healthcare Centers in Channahon, Gardner, Mazon, Marseilles, Minooka, Morris, Newark, Ottawa, and Seneca. The survey is conducted every three years and is a condition of participation in Medicare & Medicaid Services.

Over the three-day period, four ACHC surveyors conducted an intense review of policies and practices to verify Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers’ compliance with nearly 1,000 standards. Surveyors toured and inspected the hospital and several off-campus locations, reviewed patient records and personnel and credentialing files, and conducted interviews with patients, physicians and staff. The accreditation is effective until April 25, 2029.

“We are incredibly proud of our entire team for achieving a highly successful survey,” said Tom Dohm, President & CEO of Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers. “During the exit conference, the surveyors told us that we have a ‘phenomenal’ hospital, ‘beautiful’ equipment, an ‘amazing’ scope of services, and ‘lovely’ colleagues who are doing an excellent job.”

“We couldn’t be more pleased, proud, and grateful for all the great work achieved by our team and the excellent care they provide for our patients and community every day,” Dohm added.
