Mary R. Tabor, 92, of Dwight, Illinois passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Heritage Healthcare and Rehab in Dwight. Funeral services were held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Dwight, Illinois. A visitation was held the two hours preceding the services, also at the church. Burial followed the services in Goodfarm Cemetery, rural Dwight. Memorials in honor of Mary may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church. Mary was born July 13, 1930 in Campus, Illinois to Oliver and Myrtle (Hodges) Stevens. She married Leo Burger in 1967 in Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Dwight, Illinois. He passed away August 25, 1992. She later married Kenneth Tabor in Emmanuel Lutheran Church in 1996. He passed away November 5, 2010. Mary attended Dwight High School with the class of 1948. She worked at Blankenburg Studios for 19 years, and retired in 1991 from Dwight Correctional Center after 22 years in the business office. She was preceded in death by her parents, seven sisters, and seven brothers. Two step-children, Linda Runyon and Jim Burger, also preceded her in death. She is survived by Kenneth (Rhonda) Tabor, Jr., Texas; Doug (Debbie) Tabor, Eureka; Patricia (Ron) Jones, Flanagan; Howard (Beth) Tabor, Paxton; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Mary & Martha, LWML.
