Rosemary Zell, age 91, of Dwight, Illinois passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2022, in her home with her dear loved ones, Jenny and George, by her side. Rosemary was born on February 28, 1931 in Joliet, Illinois to the late Anton and Jennie Grskovic. She was raised in Joliet, proudly graduating from Providence High School. She then moved to Dwight, Illinois in the early 2000s. Rosemary performed clerical work for Coleman Gas Company in Lockport prior to the birth of her children, at which time she dedicated herself to being a full-time mother and homemaker. Rosemary was forever guided by her faith as she was well-known for praying her rosary on a daily basis. It was very important to her that she be able to live out her life at home, surrounded by loved ones. Her family is very proud of having been able to provide that comfort for her. She enjoyed many years at her cabin on the Fox River, surrounded by family and friends, and her late husband of 43 years, Anton (1997). She was extremely fond of the many activities that she shared with her dear friend, George Buric. Whether spending an afternoon fishing, meeting friends at the Park Church in Streator for a musical jam session, taking a car ride, or enjoying a dinner out; just being together was precious to her. Rosemary also wanted to make mention of her best friend, and beautician, Trudy DeLong, who went out of her way to make sure that her hair always met her high expectations, every day, without fail. Rosemary’s time on this Earth has come to a close, but her love and humor will live on. Rosemary is survived by her children, Susan (William) Gilbert, and Anton Zell, Jr.; grandchildren, Jennifer (Paul) Johnson, Nicole (Jamie) Dransfeldt, Anton Zell III, David Zell, Jillian Zell; great-grandchildren, Amanda (Jack) Steichen, Maci and Cason Johnson, Bailey and Jake Dransfeldt; and her dear friend, George Buric. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Anton Zell Sr.; and her brothers, Edward and Raymond Grskovic. Private funeral services will be held at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill, Illinois.
