Susan J. “Suzie” Harford, 76, passed away September 19, 2022 at her home in Chesterton, Indiana.
Suzie was born December 29, 1946, the daughter of Bernard and Esther (Zabel) Harford and was raised on the family farm in Mazon.
After graduating from DePauw University of Indiana, she taught art for many years in Mazon and later in Lake Forest, Illinois. Suzie was a teacher, an artist, a nature lover, and an entrepreneur. She owned and operated EPAC industries in Chesterton for many years with her partner and companion Bill Mellander.
Suzie leaves behind two sisters, Virginia (Allen) Halterman and Nina (Greg) Finch. She was a loving and proud aunt to many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Doug.
A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
