Mary K. Stipp, age 82, of Blackstone passed away at her home, surrounded by her family, in Blackstone, Illinois on Friday, August 12, 2022. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, Illinois. Visitation will be for one hour preceding the services. Burial will follow the services in Union Cemetery, rural Blackstone, Illinois. Memorials in honor of Mary may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation at 200 SE 1st St., Ste 800, Miami, Florida 33131. Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, is in charge of arrangements. Mary was born April 23, 1940 in Versailles, Illinois, the daughter of Robert and Peggy (Hurst) Ingram. She married Carl S. Stipp Jr. on June 9, 1962 in Quincy, Illinois. He survives in Blackstone, Illinois. Also surviving are children: Susan Chaplin, Mark Stipp, Duane Stipp, and Marsha (Peter) Henne; sister, Jeanie Lillard; four grandchildren: Jessica Chaplin, Amber Chaplin, Sara Henne and Logan Henne; and five great-grandchildren: Paul Chaplin, Trevor Chaplin, Naomi Gale, Irie Gale, and Empress Gale. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Ingram; mother, Peggy Ingram; sisters: Glenna Kaufman and Margaret Williams; and brother, Glenn Ingram. She graduated from Quincy, Illinois High School. She and Carl spent their entire 60 years of marriage on the farm together. She was a master gardener, cook, and enjoyed canning and preserving all of her bountiful harvest. It gave her great joy to cook and care for all who came into her home. She sacrificed for her family her entire life, always putting others’ needs first. She opened her heart and home to generations of children that she cared for.
