CREST HILL – Lloyd Gale Irvin, 82, passed away from heart complications on February 10, 2022, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center.
He was born January 26, 1940, in Odell, Illinois, the son of Hamilton and Frances (Horton) Irvin. Lloyd graduated from Dwight Township High School.
He served in the United States Air Force for four years. He worked at a classified job in the mountains of Okinawa, Japan.
Lloyd was a loyal member of the VFW and the American Legion. He enjoyed traveling across the country with his longtime companion, Dorothy Hall.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by several siblings: Bob (Juanita), Jim, Bill, and Donald Irvin.
Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia (John) Vessel of Channahon, and two grandchildren; his son, Michael (Laura) of Seminole, Florida; brothers and sisters: Betty (Bill) Vilt, Jack (Jane), Carolyn (Dick) Gonnam, Floyd (Betty), Richard (Barbara), and Ronald; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Interment:  Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
Those who wish to remember Lloyd in a special way may make gifts in his memory to the Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Hines, Illinois.
