Candace M. “Candy” Abry, 66, of Odell, Illinois passed away Monday, February 7, 2022, 4:47 p.m., at OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac.
Her service was Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, with Pastor Victor “Randy” Randle officiating.
Burial: St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Odell.
Visitation was Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hager Memorial Home in Dwight was in charge of arrangements.
Candace was born March 24, 1955 in Pontiac to Glen E. and Lorna J. (Matzen) Bloxam. Her mother survives in Dwight.
She married Paul Douglas Abry June 19, 1976 in St. Paul Catholic Church, Odell. He survives in Odell.
Also surviving are her sisters, Cindy A. (Frank) Tomac and Cathy L. (Mike) Daniels, both of Dwight; sister-in-law, Deanna Hassinger; nieces and nephews: Erin (Pam O’Connor), Jen (Rick Behrman) Daniels, Sean Tomac, Lisa Heberg, Lori Abry, Leslie (Bobby) Foster, Andrew (Hannah) Abry, and Joe (Ashley) Hassinger; great-nieces and nephews: Ryan and Shane O’Connor; Brendan and Jordan Heberg; Riley, Keegan and Hannah Foster; Lily and Adeline Abry; and Addison and Leo Hassinger.
She was preceded in death by her father, mother- and father-in-law, Leo and Jean Abry; and brothers-in-law, Dave Abry and Larry Hassinger.
Candace graduated in 1973 from Dwight Township High School. She worked at Coils in Dwight for more than 20 years; County Market for more than 15 years; and VSI in Pontiac.
Her family suggests memorials be made to Livingston County Humane Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Candy enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking and baking, watching her nieces’ and nephews’ sporting events, and she was always ready for a ride, especially if it was out to eat.

She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.
