Carol Ann Coulter, age 75, of Dwight passed away Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her home in Dwight, Illinois. Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at Hager Memorial Home. Additional visitation will be held one hour preceding the services on Wednesday, February 2, 2022. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. that same day, Wednesday, at the Memorial Home. The family requests masks be worn if attending the visitation or services. According to Carol’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials in honor of Carol may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society or the Dwight Township High School Drama Department. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is in charge of arrangements. Carol was born July 9, 1946 in Peru, Illinois, the daughter of Walter and Pearl (Baker) Coulter. She is survived by her sister, Julienne Coulter of Dwight; many cousins; two kittens, Simon and Barney; and she leaves behind many caring students and friends whose lives she touched over the years. She graduated from LaSalle-Peru High School, class of 1964. She then attended ISU in Bloomington, Illinois, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in 1968. Then she returned to ISU to gain her Masters degree in 1977. She taught at Dixon High School briefly before moving to teach in Dwight, Illinois. She was a teacher in Dwight for 34 years until she retired in 2004. She was a member of Livingston County Retired Teachers, longtime member of the Goodman Theater and the Art Institute, lifetime member of the NEA National Education Association. Carol loved to garden, play cards, read, travel, attend the theater and shopping. She will be remembered as a favorite of many of her students and beloved to all who knew her.
