DWIGHT – Wallace G. Pfeifer, 90, of Dwight passed away at 12:38 p.m., Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Morris Hospital in Morris, Illinois.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 27, 2021 in Goodfarm Cemetery, rural Dwight.
Hager Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials in Wallace’s name may be left to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Wallace was born December 31, 1930 in Goodfarm Township, Illinois, a son of Wallace and Margaret (Goldie) Pfeifer. He married Alma Cook of Streator, and she passed away in 2007. He then married Margaret (Sampson) Pfeifer of Dwight in 2008. She survives in Dwight.
He is also survived by his sons, Dan and John Pfeifer, both of Chicago; step-children, Beth (Terry) Riccolo, Amy (Monte) Jensen, and Greg (Amy) Pfeifer, all of Dwight; grandchildren: Taylor (Ben), Rem, Raegen, Hunter (Justine), Courtney (Luke), Ainsley (Brad), Morgan (Lindsey), Ean, Kirk, Anna, Megan, Shawn (Jenny), Jason, Hannah, Patrick, Robbie, Parker, Oliver, Audrey, Mason, Hayden, and Emmy Ma and great grandchild, Jacoub.
He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; daughter, Alana Wonnel; brothers, Raymond and James; sisters, Betty Close and Margaret Pfeifer.
Wallace was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dwight. He was also a member of the Sleepy Eye Pottery Club and the Hawaiian Steel Guitars Club. He worked over the years until his retirement from Commonwealth Edison.
He served his country in the United States Marines from July 26, 1948 to January 30, 1950.
