Daniel R. “Dan” Briner, 67, of Dwight, Illinois passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021. A visitation was held from 3 until 6 p.m., Friday, October 1, 2021 at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, Illinois. Cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials in memory of Dan may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight was in charge of arrangements. Dan was born in Streator, Illinois on August 15, 1954, the son of Robert and Phyllis (Longnecker) Briner. He married Lisa Vignocchi on April 29, 1988 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives in Dwight. He is also survived by his son, Joseph Briner of Coal City, Illinois; brothers, Eugene (Diane) Briner of Dwight and Gary Briner of Alton, Illinois; sister-in-law, Linda (Robert) Phelps of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; brother-in-law, Andrew Stacy of Cayuga, Illinois; nieces: Michelle (Mike Legner) Jones of Cayuga, Illinois; Rhonda (Jim) Lovell of Bloomington, Illinois; Sarah (Jeremy) DeLong of Dwight; Stacey (Scot) Banks of Dwight; and Kasey (Dan) Strachan of Dwight; a nephew, Darren (Donna) Stacy of Odell; and many great-nieces and nephews. Dan graduated from Dwight Township High School in the class of 1972. After high school he worked at Conrail Railroad for 15 years, retiring from “D” Construction, where he worked as a teamster, in 2017. Dan enjoyed riding his Harley with his brother and friends, and also enjoyed camping with his nieces, which made him feel like a grandpa.
