Nelda Louise Webster (nee Kurtenbach), age 68, of Essex, IL passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. Born November 22, 1952 in Kankakee, IL to the late Cecil Edward and Clara Ann (nee Fortna) Kurtenbach. Nelda graduated from Reddick High School with the class of 1970 and over the years attended the United Methodist Church in Essex. When her children were younger she loved attending their sporting events and will be forever remembered as their greatest cheerleader, ringing her cow bell with pride. She was a member of the South Wilmington Sportsmen Club, where she enjoyed the beach club with many friends and family. For many years she worked in the cafeteria at Reed-Custer High School in Braidwood and prepared many meals for the student athletes before their big games. Nelda also enjoyed painting in her spare time and cheering on her favorite sports team, the Chicago Cubs. Her family was her pride and joy, any moment she had with them she cherished. Surviving are two children: Brennen (Sylvia Vaughn) Webster of Essex and Heather (Tim) Harms of Essex; five grandchildren: Alyssa, Kaitlyn and Addison Harms; Violet Webster and Lucas Vaughn; two brothers: Ronald (Carol) Kurtenbach and Gerald Kurtenbach, both of Essex; two sisters: Marcia (Stephen) Campbell of Essex and Phyllis Kurtenbach of Vandalia, IL; numerous nieces, nephews and their families; and husband, Dennis W. Webster of Essex. Preceding her in death were her parents; one son, Dustin Webster (11/17/2017); one brother, Monte Ray (Shirley) Kurtenbach; and two nephews:  Rob and Ryan Kurtenbach. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Uplifted Care Hospice in Kankakee for their support and compassion during this difficult time. Visitation for Nelda will be at the R.W. Patterson Funeral Home &  Crematory, Braid-wood, Thursday, July 22, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral services at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville.
