On July 8, 2021, surrounded by loved ones, Harold “Ben” Ogg left this world to be with Jesus and his beloved wife, Vicki. Ben was a source of endless laughs and entertaining stories. He blessed the lives of all who met him. Born in Morris, IL, March 10, 1941, Ben was the son of Harold Sr. and Thelma Ogg of Dwight, IL. He was married for almost 50 years to his bride Vicki Ogg, also of Dwight. Together they raised two children, Peter (Kelli) Ogg and Melissa Ogg. Ben adored his Granddaughter, Jordan Ogg. After graduating from Dwight Township High School, Ben served our nation in the US Army. He spent 44 years at Caterpillar Tractor in Joliet and Pontiac, Illinois before retiring to the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Surviving Ben are his brother, Arthur (Mary) Ogg, and sister, Laurie (Don) McConnell; half-brothers: John, Reggie and Terry Ogg. Ben also leaves behind brothers-in-law: Tom (Susan) Wilkey and Steven Wilkey; and sister-in-law, Janice (Steve) Kinkade; along with many nieces and nephews. Ben was a man of God and led his family by example according to God’s Word. He led many men’s groups at Palm Valley Church in Mission, Texas. He was a self-proclaimed gear head, a drag racer, and loved taking his Corvettes to car shows. After Vicki’s passing in 2017, Ben became an avid tennis player at his community in Texas and enjoyed sitting on the front porch interacting with the passing neighbors. Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Ben’s life at 2 p.m., Saturday, July 24, at Palm Valley Church in Mission, Texas. Interment will be 10 a.m., Monday, July 26, at Texas Veterans Cemetery, Mission, Texas.
