DWIGHT – Cynthia “Cindy” Boyenga, 63, of Dwight, IL and formerly of East Dundee, IL,  passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at 4:20 p.m. at her residence. Cremation rites have been accorded and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, IL. Memorials in Cynthia’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Cynthia was born on August 5, 1957 in Elgin, IL, a daughter of Harley and Mary (Johnson) Carlson. She married Stephen Paul Boyenga on December 28, 1991 in the Methodist Church, East Dundee, IL. He survives in Dwight, IL. Also surviving are two brothers: Harley James “Jim” (Tammy) Carlson of Winter Park, FL and Scott Carlson of Geneva, IL; one sister, Deb Carlson of Houston, TX; brother-in-law, David (Molly) Boyenga; and her nephews and nieces. She also adored her three pups, Maggy, Timmy and Riley. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents. Cynthia was educated in Dundee school district and was a graduate of Augustana College and Northern Illinois University. She was a dedicated language arts teacher at Waldo Middle School in Aurora, IL from 1987 – 2017. Cynthia was an avid sports fan, especially the Cubs. She and her husband loved to travel.
