ODELL – Phyllis E. Thorne, 90, of Odell, Illinois passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at Piper City Rehab in Piper City, IL. A memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 in St. Paul Catholic Church in Odell, IL, with Father Chris Haake officiating. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services in St. Paul Cemetery, Odell, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society or St. Paul Catholic Church in Odell, IL. Duffy Baier Snedecor Funeral Home in Pontiac is handling the arrangements. Phyllis was born just south of Dwight, IL on December 14, 1930, a daughter of Arnold and Lucy (Terando) Schook. She married Donald E. Thorne on February 16, 1952 in St. Bernard Catholic Church in Sunbury Township. He passed away December 30, 1984. She is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Derek) Bauer of Odell; grandchildren: Justin E. Bauer of Odell and Cody (Holly Ramerez) Bauer of Springfield. She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Arnold Schook Jr.; sisters: Lela Pattelli and Doris Witzak; sister – in – law, Bernadine Schook; and brothers-in-law: Quinto Pattelli and John Witzak. Phyllis was educated at Chase School in Esmen Township and later graduated high school from St. Paul’s Catholic High School in Odell, IL. She was a homemaker who loved to garden. She also helped her husband run the family farm, and continued to run it after he passed away, with the help of her brothers – in – law:  George (Faye) Thorne, Jim (Ann) Thorne and John (Wanda) Thorne; family and good neighbors. She enjoyed the country life and having her grandsons with her. After she moved into town, she volunteered at the William W. Fox Developmental Center in Dwight, IL.
