ODELL – Paul A. Branz, 75, of rural Odell, IL passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 9:12 p.m. at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington, IL. Cremation rites were accorded and a celebration of life will be held on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Streator, IL, with Pastor Charles Giacinto officiating. Private family inurnment will be in the church cemetery. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 18, from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials in Paul’s name may be made to Grace Community Church, Streator, IL. Calvert & Martin Funeral Home, Pontiac, is handling the arrangements. Paul, or “Paulie” as many called him, was born January 9, 1946 in Streator, IL, a son of Anthony J. and Margaret Von Qualen (Green) Branz. He married Karen Shane on June 6, 1970 in Pontiac, IL. She survives in rural Odell, IL. Also surviving are three children: Martha (Joe) Dittmer of Pontiac, IL; Anthony J. “Tony” (Dany) Branz of Honolulu, HI; and Autumn (Dan) Davis of Pontiac, IL; three grandchildren: Joseph Bellot, Jacob Davis, and Harper Davis. Paul was preceded in death by one brother, Roger Branz. Paul was retired, formerly employed by Caterpillar in Pontiac, and was retired from farming. He served our country patriotically in the Army National Guard from 1969-1973. He was a member of Grace Community Church in Streator, IL. He was one of a kind, a character, had a lively spirit and will be missed by many. He also loved his family fishing trips to Chetek, Wisconsin.
