DWIGHT – Lonnie Andersen, 71, of Campus, IL passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at 1:55 a.m. at Riverside Medical Center, Kankakee, IL. A Funeral Mass was held at Sacred Heart Church in Campus on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at 11 a.m. with Father Chris Haake officiating. A Catholic Burial followed the Mass in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Campus. A visitation was held prior to the Mass in the church from 10 until 11 a.m. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is in charge of the arrangements. Lonnie was born April 3, 1949 in Streator, Illinois, the son of Bill and Evelyn (Eich) Andersen. He is survived by his sisters: Judy (Bud) Bressner of Chenoa and Shari (Jerry) Fritz of Bourbonnais; nieces and nephews: Jeff (Jill) Bressner, Julie (Rick) Uplegger, Jamie (Eric) Bird, Kyle (Allie) Fritz, and Rachel (Austin) Denault; nine great-nieces and nephews; and several aunts and uncles. He is preceded in death by his father, Bill Andersen; step-father, Carl Hanlin; mother, Evelyn Andersen Hanlin; and grandparents: Roy and Viola Eich, and Axel and Dora Andersen. Lonnie served in the United States Army. He worked at the VA Hospital in Chicago. He was a lifelong member of the South Wilmington Fireman’s Club. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Campus. Lonnie enjoyed fishing and golfing, but what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his family. Memorials may be made in Lonnie’s name to Sacred Heart Church in Campus.
