Venus Frances “Fran” Allen, age 94, of South Wilmington, IL passed away Friday, January 8, 2021 at Heritage Health in Dwight, IL with her loving family by her side. Born June 23, 1926 in Essex, IL, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Dee (nee Atkinson) Huber. She married Lester Allen on June 15, 1947 in Essex and devoted her entire life to her family. A lifelong member of the South Wilmington United Methodist Church, she taught Sunday School for many years. Fran was an active member of the Star Club and enjoyed swimming and crocheting. Surviving are her daughters, Marcia (John) Cacello of South Wilmington; Francine (Ralph) Hillman of South Wilmington; and Mary (Stan) Guilinger of Sandwich, IL; son, Rich (Jen) Allen of South Wilmington; 11 grandchildren: Chris (Gena) Hillman of MN; Angela Tjelle of South Wilmington; Chad (Kate) Hillman of Batavia, IL; Mike (Stefanie) Cacello of South Wilmington; Catie (Ryan) Monroe of Essex; Matt (Elizabeth) Cacello of South Wilmington; Mark Guilinger of Sandwich; Ashley Guilinger of Sandwich; David Allen of South Wilmington; Ethan Gubbins of South Wilmington; and Tyler Gubbins of South Wilmington; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her husband, Lester Allen (May 12, 1978); and son, Lester Jon Allen. Funeral services will be private. Interment will follow in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery in Braceville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the South Wilmington United Methodist Church or South Wilmington Fire Department.
