He was born in Saunemin, IL on July 23, 1946, the son of Arnold and Frieda Gerken Branz. He attended Saunemin schools and was active in basketball and football. He was employed at Pontiac Chair Factory in Pontiac, IL for 13 years, and in 2003 Chuck retired from the US Postal Service after 25 years of service. Throughout his life, he had six holes-in-one (first one being the first year he started golfing and the other five after retiring.) He also enjoyed bowling, watching old Western movies (especially John Wayne), crossword puzzles and playing with his beloved dachshund, Casey. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Richard and Nancy (Beiswanger) Raycraft; and brother-in-law, James Drach. Survivors include his wife, Lorene; daughter, Nicole (Jason) Morgan; grandson, Maxwell, and step-grandchildren, Jasper and Julia, all of IL; brother, Richard (Arlene) Branz of IL; cousin, John (Margo) Branz of IL; brother-in-law, Terry (Linda) Beiswanger of TX; sister-in-law, Marcia Drach of IL; and several nieces and nephews.
