Born September 13, 1936 in Hysham, Montana, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Daisy (Scot) Buckley.
Catherine was raised in Montana and eventually moved to Mazon, where she met and married James M. Hill, Sr. in 1956. He preceded her in death on January 28, 1994.
She worked for several restaurants waitressing, eventually owning her own restaurant, the Good Table in Braidwood. She loved crocheting, knitting and loved playing the guitar and singing. She was always cheering her favorite hockey team, the Chicago Blackhawks.
Catherine is survived by her children: Mark (Sharon) Hill of Dwight; Patricia (Torleif) Pedersen of Livingston, Montana; and Susan (Gary) Dobbs of Mazon; grandchildren: Alexandria (Adam Mettille) Miller, James Miller, Mallory (Andrew) Dobbs-Herring, Ranae Bovelle, Rick Bovelle and Jim Bovelle; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy (Duane) Hegland; sisters-in-law, Marianne and Betty Ann Buckley; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; siblings: Denny, Tom, Jimmy and Sonny Buckley and Patsy Snodgrass.
Memorials may be made in Catherine’s name to the Joliet Area Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, Illinois 60431.
No services for Catherine will be held at this time.
Cremation rites were accorded.
