Margaret Ann Van Alstyne, 80, passed away suddenly on October 3, 2020 in Longmont, CO, surrounded by her family. A service with burial and a celebration of her life will be in Cullom, IL, but due to Covid-19 and family travel the date will need to be determined. The family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice. Margaret Ann was born May 20, 1940 in St. James Hospital, Pontiac, IL to Lester J. and Sarah Ann (Diebel) Ginter. Margaret is survived by her children:  Mary Jo (Joe) McBride; Mike (Wendy) and children JD (Maya), Kiley, Aidan; Cameron and Carson Crosby; daughter-in-law, Carla Van Alstyne; daughter, Alex, Jackie (Tim) Goscha, and great-grandchildren; a sister, Arletta Daugherty, and her children: Chris, Colleen Halberg, Shawn, Tim, and their families; a brother, Joseph Ginter, and children: Mark, Daniel, and Kathy Vernado and their families; sister-in-law, Pamela Roush, and her children: Chris and Frank Croser, Connie Brodberg and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents: Lester and Sarah Ginter; husbands: James B. Van Alstyne and Ernie Hahn; her son, Bill Van Alstyne; her brother and sister-in-law: Joe and Mary Ginter; a nephew, Matthew Ginter; father-in-law, James D. (Ginger) Van Alstyne; mother-in-law, Viola (Tiny) Van Alstyne Crawford; and father – in – law, Warren Crawford. Margaret Ann grew up on the family farm and graduated from Cullom High School in 1958. Brent and Margaret made their home in Cullom and raised their family there. Brent passed away in 1978. Margaret spent her years raising her family, and serving her clients and friends as a cosmetologist. Margaret was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church. Margaret married Ernie Hahn in 2010. Following his death she made her home in Colorado to be closer to her children. She leaves many friends and neighbors in Cullom.
