CULLOM – Duane E. Flessner, 85, of Cullom passed away April 11, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. at OSF St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, IL. Private family graveside services will be held at West Lawn Cemetery in Cullom with Pastor Gabe Baumgard-ner officiating. A public service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church in Cullom. Calvert and Martin Funeral Home, Cullom, is handling arrangements. Duane was born on October 28, 1934 in Fairbury, IL, the son of John and Sylvia (Haag) Flessner. He married Marlene Attig on February 11, 1956 at Charlotte EUB Church. She passed away January 27, 2014. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Riccolo of Dwight; daughter-in-law, Lori Flessner of Cullom; five grandchildren: Jenna (Michael) Berry, Cullom; Jessica Flessner, Normal; Michelle (Arlen) Foulks, Choctaw, Okla.; Lisa (Kurt) Muir, Odell; and Pat (Jenna) Riccolo of Corvallis, OR; 10 great-grandchildren: Brynna, Cole, Hallie, Wyatt, Marlene, Alaina, Madison, Lily, Samuel and Sadie. He is also survived by his brother, Eldon Flessner of Cullom. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marlene; son, Gerald; and two brothers, Delmar and Lavan Flessner; and one sister, Janet Schrof. He graduated high school in Cullom. He was a member and served on the council of the St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cullom. He was on the Board of Directors for the Charlotte Farmers Grain Elevator.
