CORAL SPRINGS, FL – Susan Lynn Alger, age 65, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2020 at her home in Coral Springs, Florida. She was born the daughter of Claude and Mary DeLong, and grew up in Dwight, Illinois, where she met her high school sweetheart, Don Alger. She was a graduate of Dwight Township High School and Illinois State University. She and Don were married on September 9, 1978. Susan went on to become a preschool teacher, administrative assistant, and mother to her four children. Susan is survived by Don, her husband of 41 years; her brother, Ron (Trudy) DeLong; her sister, Kathie Patterson; her children: Kristin (Michael) June, Stephanie (Michael) Cunningham, Amy (Zachary) Smith, and Ryan Alger; her four grandchildren: Leah, Joshua, and Benjamin June; and Cecilia Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews. Susan’s life was full of happiness, friends, adventure and the adoration of her wonderful family. A celebration of her life will be held in Coral Springs, Florida on May 31, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society.
