DWIGHT – John Robert Price, 70, of Dwight passed away Saturday, February 22, 2020 at his home in Dwight, IL. According to John’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. There was a visitation from 1 until 3 p.m., Saturday, February 29, 2020 at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight. A service was held at the funeral home immediately following the visitation with Father Chris Haake officiating. Burial will take place at a later date. John was born November 14, 1949 in Gary, Indiana to William John and Betty (Mordenti) Price. His mother survives in Lafayette, IN. He is also survived by daughters: Sharon Price of Fort Worth, TX and Jessica Price of Downers Grove, IL; sister, Annette (Steve) Kline of Indianapolis, IN; brother, Richard (Shannon) Price of Colorado Springs, CO; grandchildren: Taylor Ervin of Houston, TX; Austin Ervin of Fort Worth, TX; ex-wife, Mary “Fran” Morgan of Taylorville, IL; stepmother, Maureen Price of Penacook, NH; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. John was raised in Lafayette, IN, attending local Catholic schools. He married and moved to the Dwight area in the 1970s and became involved in the community. He was a member of the Dwight Lions Club, Dwight ESDA, the American Motorcycle Association, the NRA, and the Twin River Riders Motorcycle Club. He worked for more than 25 years with ComEd and most recently worked for Show Bus Public Transportation. A respected and honorable man, John was always first in line to help his community and people around him. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
