DWIGHT – George B. Hager, 93, of Dwight passed away Monday, January 13, 2020 at Heritage Health in Dwight, IL. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight with Pastor Mike Ebersohl officiating. A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow the services at Oaklawn Cemetery in rural Dwight. George was born on January 17, 1926 in Dwight, IL to Earl N. and Louise (Baker) Hager. He married Lois S. Swansbro on June 3, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Morris, IL. She passed away on July 10, 2014. He is survived by his daughters, Martha (Tom) Neville of Carrollton, TX and Cynthia (John) Downey of Geneva, IL; also surviving are five grandchildren: Tommy Neville, Quinn and Erin Hager and Cole and Margot Downey. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, sons, Kent and Scott Hager; sister, Jane Boyer; and grandson, Jeffery Neville. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Dwight, a founding member of the Dwight Lions Club, served on the board of directors for Oaklawn Cemetery and Evenglow, he was a volunteer firefighter for Dwight for more than 25 years, and George was the owner of Hager Lumber Company and the developer of the Creek Ridge Mobile Home Community.
