COAL CITY – Anita C. “Nina” Allen, 35, of Coal City passed away unexpectedly Thursday, December 19, 2019 at her home. Born July 15, 1984 in Morris, Anita Corinne is a daughter of Ginette (nee Brown) Leenerman and Kerry Allen. She was raised in Wilmington and attended Wilmington schools. Nina had a talent for crafting and making jewelry, as well as sketching and writing short stories. She was a free spirit who loved to sing, and had a soft spot in her heart for all animals. She will also be remembered for being a big fan of the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include her parents: Ginette (Dave) Leenerman of Gardner, and Kerry Allen of Romeoville; her paternal grandmother, Frances (the late Bill) Allen of Romeoville; one brother, Jim Jewett of Kankakee; one sister, Debbie (Steven) Boult of Braidwood; several aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Nina was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Roger and Mauricette Brown. Per the family’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and private family services were held.
