CULLOM – Steven R. Haag, 65, of Cullom passed away at 7:12 a.m., Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Rosewood Care Center in Moline.
Steven was born February 23, 1951, son of Mervil “Pat” and Farol Jean Hack Haag.
He is survived by one daughter, Dena (Cory) Grunewald of Moline; one son, Jake Haag of Cullom; one sister, Diane (Merle) Jehle of Cullom; three nieces and nephews: Arica (Jody) Rock of Cullom; Abbie (Josh) Frederick of Leland; and Dylan (Bekah) Moore of Cullom; a great- niece and great-nephew, Addisyn and Bryce Brock, both of Cullom; and grand-puppies, Keller, Mack and Maci.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Steven was a member of the Cullom Methodist Church; was a 1969 graduate of Tri Point High School; and he loved to research family history. He had a strong work ethic and always encouraged his kids and others to work hard.
Steven was a farmer and also owned and operated Haag Drainage. His funeral was held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 8, in St. John’s Lutheran Church, Cullom. Pastor Jonathan Brashear of the Cullom United Methodist Church officiated.
Burial followed in West Lawn Cemetery, Cullom.
A visitation was held Sunday from 2 until 5 p.m. at the Church.
Memorials in his name may be left to the Charcot Marie Tooth Foundation.
