BarbaraBurgerjpegDWIGHT – Barbara A. Burger, 75, of Dwight passed away July 22, 2015.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A brief prayer service will be held Thursday, July 30, at 10 a.m. at Hager Memorial Home, Dwight, with immediate burial in Oaklawn Cemetery, Dwight. Pastor Kurt Hoover will officiate. If you are attending the service for Barb, the family requests that you dress casual and try to wear purple, as that was her favorite color.
Barbara was born January 25, 1940 in Manteno to Stella Martin and William Statler. She married Glen Burger September 12, 1981 in Dwight. He survives in Dwight.
Barbara is also survived by her children: Donna (Gary) Kozak of Lockport; David (Cheri) Williams of Kankakee; sisters: Norma Smith of Kankakee and Sandra (Lyle) Dagen of Seymour, Texas; brother-in-law, Melvin Burger of Dwight; grandchildren: Kelly (John) Vos of Woodridge; Kyle Williams of WA; and Kurt Williams of Morris.
Barbara is also survived by several great-grandchildren, step- grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Evelyn (Jerome) Knicklebine; brothers: William “Red” (Molly) Statler and Clifford Statler; her parents-in-law, Verl (Irene) Burger; brothers-in- law: Wayne Smith and Lloyd Burger; and her cat, Punkie Poo.
Barbara was a member of the quilt group at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Dwight. She enjoyed reading and sewing.
Memorials may be made to the Livingston County Humane Society.
