Ronald E. “Chicken” Holzhauer, age 55, of Dwight, Illinois passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care, Joliet, Illinois. He was born May 22, 1967 in Pontiac, Illinois, the son of Raymond E. Holzhauer and Carol (Stratton) Holzhauer. He was raised and educated in Dwight, attending Dwight Grade School and Dwight Township High School, graduating in 1985. Ron was employed at R.R. Donnelley for many years. He was considered a “gear head,” as he loved to tear apart and put back together cars, trucks, lawnmowers, bikes, etc. from a very early age. He was a member of Dwight Lodge #34, Danish Brotherhood in America. Survivors include his son, Bryan (Natalie) Holzhauer of Boerne, Texas, and daughter, Cheyenne Holzhauer of Dwight, Illinois; one grandson, Raymond T. Holzhauer, Boerne, Texas; sister, Bonnie (Rick) Kelly, Dwight, Illinois; brothers:  Raymond Virgil (Chris) Holzhauer, Streator, Illinois; and Ronald J. (LaDonna) Jamieson of Tampa, Florida; and his step-mother, Shirley (Bill Kargle) Holzhauer of Morris, Illinois. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Debra Holzhauer White, and his nephew, Raymond James Holzhauer. Aqua cremation services have been made under the direction of U. C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home, Morris, Illinois. A celebration of Ron’s life will be held in the spring of 2023.
