Shirley Ann Brown, (nee Hammerstein), age 86, of Dwight, Illinois and formerly of Marley, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Lightways Hospice Home in Joliet, Illinois.
Shirley was born in Chicago on October 26, 1935, to the late Charles and Margaret Hammerstein.
Surviving are her children: Marvin (Terry)  Brown, Jim (Chris) Brown, Margaret McGrath, and Gary (Darla) Brown; seven grandchildren: Jamie (Marty) Hughes, Sara (Joe) LePore, Jenna (Patrick) Riccolo, Jeff (Annie) Brown, John Brown, Gwyn Brown, and Scott (Gabby) Brown.
Eleven great – grandchildren: Thomas, Seth, Makayla and Liam Brown; McKenzy Brown, Joey, Michael and Nicholas LePore, Samuel and Sadie Riccolo, and Ellie Brown; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Hammerstein and Bonnie (the late Charles) Davy; special nephews and family, Steve (Mary) Hammerstein, Megan and Lindsey Hammerstein; two special nieces, Janet (Phil) Harvey and Cathy (Al) Davis; and several other nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Brown; her son, Tom Brown; her parents; and two brothers, Charles J. and Tom Hammerstein.
Funeral services were held at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 1201 W. Route 6 at Deerpath Drive in Morris.
Interment will be private.
