PONTIAC – Donna J. Muzzarelli, age 76, of Pontiac, Illinois passed away Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac, Illinois. Born May 26, 1945 in Morris, Illinois to the late Lyle Henry and Ruth Gladys (nee Larson) Grieff, Donna was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Dwight. She retired from the Fox Developmental Center in Dwight and then continued to work as a school bus driver for the Pontiac School District. Donna grew up on a dairy farm and gained a love for cows, including any or all cow decorations. She was very involved with her church life at United Methodist. She enjoyed volunteering and also singing with the Praise Team that traveled locally to many functions. Donna had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone without hesitation. She was a proud mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. Donna will always be remembered for her kind soul, and her light will continue to shine in the lives of her daughter and grandchildren. Surviving are her daughter, Tina Sue (fiance, Kevin Thompson) Muzzarelli of Dwight; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lynn Grieff of South Wilmington, Illinois; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and her beloved Pomeranian, “Princess.” Preceding her in death were her parents, Lyle and Ruth; daughter, Lori Sue Muzzarelli (April 1971); husband, Edwin Keith “Muzzy” Muzzarelli (2-13-2007), whom she married May 22, 1965 in Dwight; brother, Dale Grieff; and dear friend, Dee Hanner. Visitation for Donna was in the United Methodist Church in Dwight, Saturday, December 18, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service beginning at 12:00 noon. Interment followed in Braceville-Gardner Cemetery, Braceville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her name may be directed to the United Methodist Church in Dwight or the American Heart Association.
