Mark Allen Oldfather, 60, of Fairbury passed away June 12, 2021 at 11:38 a.m. at OSF St. James John W. Albrecht Medical Center in Pontiac, IL.
Cremation rites were accorded. Per his wishes, there will be no services.
Duffy – Baier – Snedecor Funeral Home, Pontiac, is in charge of arrangements.
Mark was born July 23, 1960 in Columbus, IN to Jay P. Oldfather and Marjorie (Peters) Branz. Marjorie survives in Eureka, IL. He married Penny Lea Schroeder on March 15, 1980, at First United Methodist Church in Saunemin, IL. She survives in Fairbury, IL.
Also surviving are his children: Lena, Ashley, Cody and Hawken; siblings: Bruce, Sherri, Debbie, Marlene and Darlene; and grandchildren: Cassidy, Kenny, Joey and Gus.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jay; and one infant son, Jacob.
Mark was a graduate of Saunemin High School, class of 1978. He worked for RR Donnelley in Dwight for over 40 years, and most recently obtained his CDL and drove for Sharkey Transportation out of Quincy, IL.
Mark was a member of Saunemin United Methodist Church and the Illinois Dairy Goat Association for over 40 years. He enjoyed NASCAR and tinkering on anything mechanical. He also enjoyed showing dairy goats, helping anyone who asked, and of course his endless “honey do list.”
