Donald Cletus Hughes, 65, passed away April 9, 2021 at his home in Forrest, IL, surrounded by his family.
Funeral services will be held privately with the family, officiated by dear friend Kevin Cooley.
A visitation will be held for the public from 1 until 3 p.m., Saturday, April 17, 2021 at Calvert Martin Funeral Home in Forrest, IL.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Donald was born in Hinsdale, IL on February 2, 1956, a son of Donald and Lorraine (Rich) Hughes. He married Harriet Marie Aubele in Downers Grove, IL on May 24, 1974. She survives in rural Forrest, IL. His mother also survives, in Pontiac, IL.
He is also survived by his children: Donald (Shannon) Hughes of Washington, IL; Jessica (Bryant) Mangler of Dubuque, Iowa; Kathleen Huter of Forrest, IL; Christopher (Eric Smith) of St. Paul, MN; brothers: Robert (Betty) Hughes of Dwight, IL and Carl Hughes of Pontiac, IL; sisters: Isabel (Leroy) Owens of Pontiac and Debra (Mike) Churchill of Lockport, IL; grandchildren: Emersyn, Jayce, Abigail Hughes; Dane, Kennedy Mangler; and Aiden Huter.
Also surviving are many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
Donald was preceded in death by his Father, and sisters, Brenda and Carol Ann Hughes.
He was a member of the IUOE Local 150 throughout his career. He was also involved with the Livingston County 4-H Horse Show for many years.
Don enjoyed horseback riding, fishing with his wife, a cold beer and a slice of pizza. He had great fun taking his grandchildren on hayrack rides and spending time with them around a fire pit eating Smores. Don was greatly loved by his Family for his devotion to them. He considered his children his greatest achievement. Family meant everything to him.
