MAZON – Randall Sheedy, 71, of Mazon passed away peacefully with family by his side on Friday, February 26, 2021 at the Joliet Area Hospice Home in Joliet, IL. A prayer service was held privately with the family with Father Chris Haake officiating. A visitation was held from 4 until 7 p.m., Monday, March 1, 2021 at Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, IL. Cremation rites followed and private family inurnment in St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery, Ransom, will occur at a later date. Honorary pallbearers will include Greg Sheedy, Jerry Sheedy, Michael Sheedy, Max Sulzberger, Nick Baudino, Pat Carey, Ryan Vint, and Pat Vint. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the American Cancer Society. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is handling the arrangements. Randall was born in Streator, IL on November 17, 1949, a son of Emmet and Rosemary (Sisk) Sheedy. He married Paula Filippini in Ladd, IL on February 15, 1975. She passed away April 8, 2019. He is survived by his daughter, Erin (Todd) Hancock of Woodbridge, VA; son, Bud (Katie) Sheedy of Verona, IL; four grandchildren: Marcus, Brady, Brooklyn and Kendall; brothers: Jerry (Kris) Sheedy of Ottawa and Greg (Lynn) Sheedy of Peru; and lifelong family friend Linda Bookout and her two daughters, Angela Woods and Jennifer Jensen. Randall was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Paula. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; a member of Electrician’s Local 176; and had served on the Kinsman Village Board. He was an avid U of I and Cowboys fan, and loved spending time with his grandchildren, including taking them to school and attending their many events and activities. Randall served in the United States Army and gained an Associates degree. He worked for Exelon in the mechanical maintenance department. He could be found at E.J.
