David Eugene “Scuzzy” Northrup, 67, of Pontiac and formerly of Streator, passed away Saturday evening, March 20, 2021 at his home. Visitation was held Saturday from 10 until 12 noon at Winterrowd Funeral Home, Streator. Funeral services were held at noon at the funeral home, with cremation rite following the services. Scuzzy was born on November 22, 1953 in Streator to Merrill Edward and Betty Jane (Potter) Northrup. Surviving are daughters, Kristy (Tim) Harvey of Streator and Carrie (Adam) Handzus of Gardner; grandchildren: Noah and Kayla Harvey, LynnDee Hale, Bryce and MadaLee Handzus; siblings: Randy (Pam) Northrup of LaSalle; Mark (Julie) Northrup of O’Fallon, MO; Marlene (James) Russell of Bloomington; Kelly (Scott) Hamblin of Mangrum, OK; and Ralph Scott of Streator; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Eugene Northrup, Jr., in infancy; brothers: Jeffrey and Merrill “Ed” Northrup; and a sister, Sandra Scott Rogers. Scuzzy attended Streator schools, was employed at RR Donnelley in Pontiac for 23 years, and had D.J. Ain’t Skeered D J Services. He was a longtime supporter of the Screaming Eagles. Scuzzy loved telling jokes and was fun to be around, and loved close friends that he considered family who helped take care of him over the years. Memorials may be made in his name to the Screaming Eagles Toy Drive.
