June L. Groth (nee Anderson), formerly of Joliet, passed away at Heritage Health in Dwight Friday, February 5, 2021 at the age of 102 years. Survived by her daughter, Elaine M. (Elton E.) Gerber and her son, Donald E. (Barbara A.)  Groth; five grandchildren: Timothy E. (Cindy) Gerber, Michael A. (Mary) Gerber, Jonathan (Lindsay) Groth, Kristel (Francisco) Garcia, and Thomas (Crystal) Groth; nine great – grandchildren: Ethan, Scarlett, Maci and Monroe Gerber; Lukas Groth; Helen, Alicia and Gabriel Garcia; and Scarlett Groth. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald J. Groth (2004); her parents, Ernest and Julia Anderson. June was born February 28, 1918 in Joliet. She was a lifelong Joliet resident until moving to The Woods in Dwight eight years ago. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and attended the Church of Hope Presbyterian in Gardner. June loved crossword puzzles, gardening, sewing and cooking. She was only 25 days short of her 103rd birthday, and enjoyed driving until the age of 97. Memorial services will be held at the Carlson – Holmquist – Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Joliet, Wednesday, February 10. at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Matthew Robinson will officiate.
