Clifford Clement “Tiff” Steichen, 81, of Dwight went peacefully home to the Lord on December 14, 2020 surrounded by his wife, family and his faithful companion Chico at his side at home in Dwight. According to Clifford’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. Private services will be held in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Campus, IL with Father Stanley Drewniak officiating. Burial will follow the services in Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery, also in Campus. Memorials in honor of Clifford may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight is in charge of arrangements. Clifford was born September 28, 1939 to Clifford Clement Sr. and Margaret Irene (Bannon) Steichen. He married Dorlene Hansen on November 20, 1959 in Dwight, IL. She survives in Dwight. He is also survived by sons, Doug (Julie) Steichen of Dwight, Dan (Kelly) Steichen of Gardner; daughters, Cindy (Alan) Guest of Hudson, IL, Teri (Don) Kennedy of Pontiac, IL, Sara (Joel) Kirstein of Plainfield, IL; brother, James (Darlene) Stei-chen of Campus; sister, Jane (Roger) Schnoor of Mt. Ayr, Iowa; 21 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and his dog, Chico. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, George Steichen; sisters, Ann Mortensen, Jackie Oelschla-ger, Marilyn Oelschlager and Mary Gretchen Sprecher. He leaves behind many friends and memories in Arizona where he wintered for the last 20 years. He was a man of strong faith and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Campus, IL. He was also a member of the Campus Lions Club, was a school board member in Reddick, and a volunteer firefighter in Campus. He worked for more than 42 years for Caterpillar. Clifford enjoyed hunting, golfing and watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a diehard Cubs and Bears fan.
