Michael Christensen, 63, of Dwight, IL passed away on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at OSF St. James Hospital in Pontiac, IL. A visitation will take place from 4 until 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 1, 2020. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, October 2, 2020. Burial will follow the services in Oaklawn Cemetery, Dwight. Memorials in honor of Michael may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Hager Memorial Home in Dwight, IL is in charge of arrangements. Michael was born in Streator, Illinois on July 13, 1957 to Christian Peter and Jacqueline Ann (Burger) Christensen. He married Phyllis Pritts on January 10, 1981 in Dwight, IL. She survives in Dwight. He is also survived by sons: Matthew Ryan (Amber) Christensen of Pontiac and Adam Michael (Amanda Hayes) Christensen of Dwight; brothers: Terry (Nooshin) Christensen of Columbia, MO and Ken Christensen of Dwight; sister, Jacqueline Nichols of Fairbury, IL; grandchildren: Kate and Drew Christensen of Pontiac; father-in-law, Jim Pritts; many nieces and nephews, and a special niece, Kim (Chris) Frauli of Dwight and their children, Jillian, Daniela and Tyler. He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Mary Pritts; grandmother, Mabel Rousey; and sister, Jenny Christensen, with whom he shared a birthday. Michael lived out his years in Dwight, working for more than 25 years for RR Donnelley, until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He also enjoyed umpiring, jig-saw puzzles, Trivia, listening to music, and vacationing at Disney World. He will be remembered for his one liners and his love for his family.
