Christine Elizabeth Kuwahara passed away May 22, 2020 from complications due to Covid-19 at Northwest Community Hospital of Arlington Heights, IL. Christine was born to the late Robert and Betty Currie on July 8, 1951. She was the beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and the dear friend of many. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Robert); brother, Robert (Marilyn); sister, Cameo; granddaughters, Colleen and Emily; as well as numerous nephews. Christine enjoyed life no matter her circumstances and was an inspiration to those who knew her and loved her. She strived to start each day with a good attitude and a heart full of gratitude for the blessings she had been given. Christine loved the land and the natural world. She carried that love into her education where she earned a B.S. degree in Biological Science at Southern Illinois University on June 8, 1973. She later continued her education at Loyola University in Chicago, earning a Licensed Practical Nursing degree. Christine took great pride in her family and had a very devout Christian faith. She was a lifelong member and served in a variety of ways at the First Congregational Church of Dwight. There will be a private celebration of her life in the future. Memorials in Christine’s name may be made to the First Congregational Church of Dwight; the Institute of Human Resources in Pontiac; or the National Alliance on Mental Health (NAMI).
