DWIGHT – Juanita June Drechsel. Born in Algona, Iowa on April 21, 1925. Juanita June (Bilsborough) Drechsel lived much of her life on a dairy farm in Goodfarm Township near Dwight, Illinois with her beloved Hilbert “Hub” Drechsel.
After leaving the farm, Pollard Street in Dwight was home where she loved tending her gardens and mastering the art of embroidery.
In her final years, she resided comfortably at Evenglow Lodge in Pontiac, Illinois, enjoying frequent visits from friends and family.  Though she claimed to dislike school, she loved learning. Travel and history programs carried her to worlds beyond her easy chair. Her curiosity about life, cheerful attitude and beautiful complexion contributed to her youthful countenance of 95 years.
Music was her greatest joy. She attended the local Jams and music concerts, and was daily comforted by the CD playing of Lawrence Welk, Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Elvis. As a dedicated farm wife, Fox Center employee, member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, and loving mother to daughters Virginia Sue Hubbard of Texas and Shirley Ann Drechsel of North Carolina she lived a long, productive, and giving life.
She passed away May 13, 2020 leaving behind her two daughters, a son-in-law, Wayne Vaughn, three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two step grandchildren, and one step-great-grandchild.
Heartfelt gratitude is extended to the staff of Evenglow Lodge and Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion.
A private graveside service will be held.
Memorial donations in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church,  326 W. Chippewa St., Dwight, Illinois 60420.
